Starbucks renovates with green-building in mind

Starbucks brews global green-building plan, renovates Seattle shop | Grist.

Starbucks is an interesting case.  They revolutionalized the coffee industry and based their business on the coffee shop “experience.”  As a consumer, you were pretty sure that whereever you went in the world, you would see that familiar green sign and be able to pop-in for a frappachino and have a consistent experience.

So what happens when Starbucks starts to realize that by following a strategy of cookie-cutter shops, that they could be doing a lot better when it comes to the environmental impact of their many stores?  It seems like this is the case now, and the coffee giant is starting to change their tune by sourcing locally for the shops.  The result?  Not sure, you have to go to Seattle to check it out…
