Pesticides and produce

We all know we need to eat more fruits and veggies, but the pesticides used to treat those colorful pieces of goodness are dangerous for your health and the environment.  While produce in my current town of Barcelona, Spain is amazingly affordable, I don’t have any organic options.

I went shopping for groceries in the USA yesterday and had a difficult time deciding how to spend my money: Should I buy the $2.99 organic pepper and skip the pricey organic bananas in favor of the regular ones?  I knew that some items are treated more heavily with chemicals with others, but couldn’t remember the details.

Check out this article which tells you exactly what you definitley need to purchase in the organic section: peaches etc., and what you can buy in the regular section: onions etc.

Happy shopping and be sure to eat those brussel sprouts!
